We cannot remove you from the emergency call list. The database list comes from your telephone service providers (such as AT&T, Sprint, Verizon, Cox) and from the 9-1-1 database list. You will only receive an emergency call when there is a threat to citizens’ life or property. Emergency examples are catastrophic weather events (such as an ice storm), drinking water contamination, explosion, terrorism or a Governor’s declared state of emergency. We will not utilize this system for general communication, only emergencies.
There is no law that prohibits this type of emergency call. However, the CodeRED Weather Warning is an optional service offered by this system. We use only the enrollment database that you signed up to on the web site for the automatic severe weather alerts. Automatic severe weather alerts are only reaching you by your preferred methods (phone call, text, and email) and only to the information you specified. You can log back into the system and remove them or change them on the web site here: www.fayetteville-ar.gov/notifyme
