In 1983, 19 acres were purchased with Community Development Block Grant Funds. Located off US Highway 62 West, the park was named Charles J. Finger Park in honor of a local author who wrote from his Fayetteville home. This tract of land has many park features such as a large open area, a small stream, and a large grove of trees leading up the mountain to an overlook.
