What is the amount for a felony hot check?
Any bad check in excess of $1,000 is considered to be a felony offense. Several checks written within a 90-day period that total over $1,000 may constitute a felony. Our office will send the checks to the County Prosecutor once we determine that the writer is a felony check writer.
