Are you a "No Kill" shelter?
We are an "open admission" municipal shelter, meaning we take in every animal regardless of age, health, or temperament. We only provide animal services for city of Fayetteville residents and animals found within Fayetteville city limits. "No kill" shelters often selectively accept their animals knowing they can be placed.

The standard definition of "no kill" is an annual euthanasia rate below 10%. Fayetteville Animal Services has met that benchmark since 2013.

Because we take in sick, behaviorally unsound and very old animals, we cannot place all of them in homes. If the animal is aggressive or has an illness/injury that will take major resources or constitutes a quality of life issue, we are committed to providing humane euthanasia. Those decisions are made by our staff Veterinarian. For more information, contact the Animal Services at 479-444-3456.
