Third Annual Lake Sequoyah Cleanup Scheduled for October 14
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Volunteers are invited to participate in the third annual Lake Sequoyah Cleanup On Saturday, October 14. The event begins at 9:30 a.m. at the Lake Sequoyah Marina (6608 E Lake Sequoyah Drive) and wraps up at 11:30 a.m. with pizza, water, and door prizes for participating volunteers. This is a family friendly event – all ages of volunteers are welcome!
Volunteers will pick up litter along lakeshores and surrounding hillside trails and roads, while having an opportunity to hike, paddle, and explore the lake and park. Participants are encouraged to wear appropriate clothing including a hat, long sleeves, and sturdy closed-toe shoes or muck boots. Bug spray and sunscreen are also encouraged. Water will be provided. Event sponsors will hand out supplies and provide any necessary training to volunteers.
Sponsors include the City of Fayetteville, Beaver Watershed Alliance, Keep Fayetteville Beautiful, Washington County, Boston Mountain Solid Waste District, Arkansas Stream Team, and Homegrown on the River.
