Free T-shirt for Donors at City Blood Drive
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The City of Fayetteville is hosting a blood drive on Wednesday, June 21 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Fayetteville Square. Look for the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks (CBCO) bloodmobile. Donors will receive a free t-shirt!
Get a good night’s rest, drink extra water and eat a healthy meal before your donation. Check the CBCO website here
to learn about the blood donation process. To help cut down the wait times, please contact Bonnie Bolinger at 479-575-8333 or email@example.com
to make an appointment or for more information. Of course, walk-ins are always welcome. CBCO has a current need for all blood types and THE AB PLASMA SUPPLY IS AT A CRITICALLY LOW LEVEL AND DONORS ARE NEEDED.
Type AB plasma is considered the universal plasma type and most often used in emergency situations. Examples of plasma use is to help burn and shock victims, and to treat clotting disorders.
When an emergency happens somewhere in the Ozarks and someone’s life depends on an immediate plasma transfusion – AB is the type physicians request until the patient’s actual blood type is determined. AB blood type is not common – less than 5% of the population has it, yet more than 15% of all plasma transfused in our community requires it. This results in chronic and often severe shortages of AB plasma. Anyone with blood type AB who would like to donate plasma, may do so by visiting the CBCO Springdale Donor Center at 3503 S. Thompson Street in Springdale. Please let the staff know that you are type AB and would like to donate plasma to help rebuild the supply. When you give blood, you are literally helping hospitals save the life of someone’s spouse, parent or child. There is no easier way to save a life than to give blood. Every two seconds someone needs blood, so mark your calendar and come donate.
