Please make plans to join us at the next blood drive on February 9th. The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks (CBCO) will have their bloodmobile on the Fayetteville Square from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Donors will receive a free long sleeved, quarter-zip pullover as a thank you.
CBCO is calling on eligible blood donors to donate to help refill blood reserve levels, which dropped sharply during the severe winter storm last week. Over 500 donations were lost due to drive cancellations and donor center closures.
Blood usage in area hospitals remains high. January’s transfusion numbers were the highest in the last three years. Blood usage doesn’t stop when a major weather events occurs. It takes around 200 donations each day to fulfill local needs.
CBCO is the sole provider of blood and plasma to the 44 area healthcare facilities. Local donors are needed to continue to provide for local patients.
Appointments are strongly encouraged to manage donor flow. Schedule your appointment by contacting Bonnie Bolinger at 575-8333 or bbolinger@fayetteville-ar.gov or online at https://donate.cbco.org/donor/schedules/drive_schedule/129199
Masks are required for donors and staff. If you don’t have a mask, one will be provided.
Don’t forget to access the QuickPass link to complete your health history questions online the day of the blood drive. The QuickPass system will save you time when you arrive at the blood drive by skipping the health history questions and move you on to the next step.
