Drainage Culvert Repair to Close Old Wire Road

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — A temporary road closure permit has been approved by the City for the repair of a stormwater box culvert over Niokaska Creek. This work will require the 24-hour closure of Old Wire Road between Pittman Drive and Ash Street beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 28, and ending at 5 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 2.

Suggested detour routes will be marked in the field and include using Broadview Drive, Austin Drive, and Ash Street. Please use extreme caution when in the work area.

The box culvert is being repaired in association with the City’s Old Wire Road improvements project which is ongoing. This project will create sidewalks, curb/gutter, and bicycle lanes on Old Wire Road between Mission Boulevard and Ash Street. Future phases will continue the improvements to the north on Old Wire Road.

For more information about this project, please call Gary Franklin with APAC by email garry.franklin@apac.com or by telephone 479-263-3233.
