Van Asche Drive Lane Closures in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — A contractor for the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department will begin construction on W. Van Asche Drive on November 18 for the widening of the I-49 bridges.

There are several different phases of lane closures proposed that will shift traffic from one side of the road to the other depending on which part of the bridge is being constructed. Two-way traffic (one lane in each direction) will be maintained at all times, with the exception of a few short (15 to 30 minute) closures overnight from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The lane closures will be necessary for the contractor to use a crane to remove and install bridge girders over Van Asche Drive. The lane closures are expected to run through the beginning of December 2017.

Motorists are urged to use care and think ahead when traveling through the work zone.
