City to Hold Scaled Back Regional Park Grand Opening Due to Weather

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Events for the City of Fayetteville’s Kessler Mountain Regional Park Grand Opening have been scaled back due to previous rains and tomorrow’s weather predictions. The Grand Opening Ceremony and Ribbon Cutting Celebration will take place as scheduled at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 20. In order to protect the conditions of Kessler Mountain trails and park playing fields – the Bike Ride, Trail Run, Plant Scavenger Hunt, Stream Restoration Tour, and Lawn Games will be rescheduled for a sunnier day.

A large event tent has been erected to provide cover from the rain if needed. Parks and Recreation Department staff and other City staff and officials will be available to discuss the current amenities and future plans for the Kessler Mountain Regional Park. Watermelon and bananas will be available for all to enjoy.

The park entrance is located off of S. Cato Springs Road at 2600 W. Judge Cummings Road (WC Road 200). A google map link can be found here. To learn more about the Kessler Mountain Regional Park, please visit this webpage.
