Unexpected Lane Closures on N. College Avenue near Rebecca Street

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The City of Fayetteville Transportation Division will close one northbound lane and one southbound lane on N. College Avenue, taking effect immediately. The outer northbound lane from Davidson Street to Rebecca Street will be closed 24 hours per day until Friday, July 15. The inner southbound lane from Cleburn Street to Maple Street will be closed daily from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. until Friday, July 15.

The Transportation Division crew discovered a failure of the street base in the construction area for the College Avenue Improvement Project, therefore it is necessary to widen the work zone in order to address the issue. Flaggers will be present to allow construction vehicles to enter and exit the work area. Please use extreme caution when in the work area and watch for personnel and equipment.

Motorists should expect some traffic delays and may want to use alternate routes this week.

On behalf of the City of Fayetteville, we would like to express our appreciation for your cooperation and understanding as we perform our work in this area. For additional information, please contact the City of Fayetteville Transportation Division office at 479-575-8228. Office hours are 7:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
