Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Completion of Town Branch Trail
The City of Fayetteville and Mayor Lioneld Jordan invite the community to a ribbon cutting ceremony for the completion of the 2.2-mile-long Town Branch Trail. The ceremony will be held on Thursday, June 9 at 2 p.m. in Greathouse Park (1710 S. Price Avenue).
The Town Branch Trail is a 12-foot-wide concrete trail that follows the natural scenic corridor of the Town Branch Creek. Energy efficient LED lighting has been installed along the entire length for improved safety and nighttime use. The trailhead on the eastern side begins at Walker Park and connects to the southern end of the Razorback Regional Greenway. The trail continues to the west, passing under Highway 71 (S. School Avenue), through Greathouse Park, across S. Razorback Road, and then turns north and connects with the Tsa La Gi Trail at Hollywood Avenue, near Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and I-49.Once the final link in the Tsa La Gi Trail is complete at Razorback Road, a 5-mile loop will be created with the Tsa La Gi and Town Branch Trails. Both trails pass through or next to many apartment complexes creating convenient access for trail use as recreation or alternative transportation.
The Town Branch Trail was made possible through the support from the Walton Family Foundation with a 50/50 matching grant in the amount of $815,000.
The public is encouraged to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony and experience the new Town Branch Trail. A guided bike tour of the new trail will follow the ceremony so attendees are encouraged to bring their bikes.
