SHELTER PLANNING FOURTH ANNUAL DICKSON STREET "PUP" CRAWL

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — On Saturday, May 2nd, various bars on and around Dickson Street will go to the dogs! The 4th Annual Dickson Street Pup Crawl is set to take place from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. that day. “We are so excited to be hosting this event for the fourth year running,” stated Shelter superintendent, Justine Lentz. “Last year was our biggest year yet and we had about 200 participants and raised just over $4,200,” Lentz continued.

All of the money raised goes directly to the Fayetteville Animal Shelter, which adopted out almost 1,500 pets in 2014. “We are able to save over 90% of the pets that come through our doors each year, but we can’t do that without community support,” Lentz said.

You can pre-register for the event by visiting the online event website: http://tinyurl.com/lkfzsxg The $25 pre-registration fee includes a t-shirt for you and a bandana for your dog, as well as access to the all of the participating bars. The bars include Kingfish, Jose’s, Grub’s, Dickson St. Pub, C-4, Powerhouse, Dickson St. Social Club, and Infusion; as well as a new bonus this year at Something Urban! Each bar will have one canine-themed drink special. The early bird registration rate ends on Monday, April 13. If you wait to register the day of the event, the fee goes up to $35.

“This is a fun, adult-oriented event. We encourage people to make a date with their dog and come enjoy the beautiful weather, support local businesses, and help your local animal shelter all at the same time,” Lentz said.
