Police Recruiting Video Earns Silver and Bronze Telly Awards

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The Fayetteville Police Department’s new recruiting video, “Join the Fayetteville Police Department,” was produced by the City’s Media Services Division and recently received two awards from the 37th Annual Telly Awards:
• 2016 Silver Award in the Film/Video–Non-Broadcast Productions/Recruitment category • 2016 Bronze Award in the Non-Broadcast Productions/Editing category
This is the first time the Media Services Division has been recognized with a Silver Telly by the Silver Telly Council judging and oversight body. Less than 10 percent of over 13,000 entries are chosen as winners of the Silver Telly Award. Only about 25 percent of entries are chosen as winners of the Bronze Telly; the division has received nine Bronze Telly Awards.

“The City of Fayetteville and the Police Department are honored to receive a 2016 Silver Telly Award – the City’s first – for the recruiting video,” said Doug Bankston, director of Media Services for the City. “This video, with its eye-catching visuals, will help to recruit the best and brightest candidates to the Police Department. With so many divisions and opportunities within the department, the making of this video was a lengthy and rewarding process, and special thanks go to Sergeant Paul Shepard, Captain Jamie Fields, and Chief Greg Tabor for their assistance.”

The Silver Telly Council is comprised of top industry professionals who are previous winners of a Silver Telly, the organization’s highest honor. The Telly Awards was founded in 1979 and is the premier award honoring outstanding local, regional, and cable TV commercials and programs, the finest video and film productions, and online commercials, video, and films. Winners represent the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators, and corporate video departments in the world. Entries do not compete against each other; rather, entries are judged against a high standard of merit. More information about the Telly Awards is available at www.tellyawards.com.
