Square 2 Square Bike Ride from Fayetteville to Bentonville Returns for Second Year

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The Parks and Recreation Departments of Fayetteville and Bentonville are excited to announce the return of the “Square 2 Square Bike Ride” on Saturday, May 14, presented by First National Bank of Northwest Arkansas. Participants start the 30-mile fun ride in downtown Fayetteville between 8 – 10 a.m., travel north along the Razorback Regional Greenway, and finish in downtown Bentonville with festivities between 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

This year, ride activities include three “Trail Mix Pit Stops” featuring live music, exhibits from Bike Zoo, water/aid, and bike mechanic support. Finish line festivities include additional music, stage performances, and refreshments. Bike valet service is offered, allowing participants to enjoy post-ride activities and visit Bentonville businesses without the worry of locking up precious wheels. Several shops and restaurants in the vicinity of the Bentonville’s downtown square will be offering discounts to ride participants. Limited shuttle service (courtesy of Ozark Regional Transit and the Fayetteville Boys and Girls Club) to the start in Fayetteville will be available for registered participants before and after the ride.

Cyclists must register in advance and will receive a commemorative t-shirt and pint glass. Participants will also be awarded with finisher medals upon arrival in Bentonville. Youth (ages 9-13) can register for $15 (increases to $20 on April 24) and adults (ages 14+) can register for $25 (increases to $30 on April 24). Children under 8 do not need to register.

Registration is now available online at http://www.bikebentonville.com.

Numerous volunteer opportunities are available and can be found on the Square 2 Square Bike Ride event page on http://www.Givepulse.com.
