City Seeks Public Comment on Final Draft of Kessler Mountain Trails Master Plan
The City of Fayetteville has been working on the Kessler Mountain Trails Master Plan for the 387.56 acre Kessler Mountain addition to the 232.17 acre Regional Park in southwest Fayetteville. The master plan process began in August 2015 with a public survey and input from several community stakeholders. A draft of the final plan is now available for review; the City is seeking comments about the plan from the public. To review the draft, learn more, and send comments – please visit this City webpage.
A presentation will be made at a special meeting of the Fayetteville Parks and Recreation Advisory Board to formally review and receive public comment on the final draft of this master plan. All citizens and other interested individuals and groups are invited to attend and contribute comments. The meeting is on Tuesday, April 12 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in Room 219 of the City Hall, located at 113 W. Mountain Street. Two-hour parking is free on the Square and metered parking is free after 6 p.m.
Comments can also be submitted to Fayetteville Parks and Recreation by telephone at 479-444-3471 or by mail to Fayetteville Parks and Recreation, 113 W. Mountain Street, Fayetteville, AR 72701. Comments will be accepted until 5 p.m. on Friday, April 15, 2016.
Once the draft of the plan is finalized, it will be presented to the Fayetteville City Council for adoption. The adopted Kessler Mountain Trails Master Plan will be used to guide future trail improvements at Kessler Mountain, as well as maintenance and management of the existing trails.
