Tickets Available for Fifth Annual Dickson Street Pup Crawl Benefiting Fayetteville Animal Services

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — On Saturday, April 30 various venues on and around Fayetteville’s Dickson Street will be full of happy people and wagging tails! The Fifth Annual Dickson Street Pup Crawl is set to take place from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. that day. “We look forward to this event each year,” said Shelter superintendent, Justine Lentz, “Last year was our biggest year yet and we had about 200 participants and raised just over $5,700.”

All of the money raised goes directly to Fayetteville Animal Services which reunited 897 pets with their families and adopted out almost 1,500 pets in 2015. “We are able to save over 90% of the animals that come through our doors each year, but we can’t do that without community support,” Lentz said.

There is one major change to this year’s event; there will be no “day of” registration this year. Lentz stated, “We want to the keep the Pup Crawl enjoyable and safe for everyone who attends, and we feel that putting a cap at 250 participants with one dog each will keep the event fun and manageable.”

Tickets can be purchased online for $35 plus a $2.92 surcharge from the ticketing vendor or in-person from Fayetteville Animal Services. The event ticket price includes a t-shirt for participants and a dog bandana, as well as access to Kingfish, 21st Amendment, Grub’s, C-4, Dickson Street Pub, Powerhouse, Cork and Keg, Deluxe Burger, and Infusion – which will feature a doggie pool party on their patio! Each venue will have one canine-themed drink special. Something Urban will be a bonus stop offering a free gift for each pup, plus 20% off purchases for registered participants!

“Registration will close when we sell out or at midnight on Friday, April 29. We expect to sell all available tickets, so we encourage people to go ahead and register.” stated Lentz. “This is a fun, 21 and older adult-oriented event. We encourage people to make a date with their dog and come enjoy the beautiful weather, support local business, and help your local animal shelter – all at the same time,” Lentz said.
