Recognitions Given at Fayetteville Fire Department Awards Banquet

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The Fayetteville Fire Department held its Annual Promotion and Awards Ceremony and Banquet on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016. The following personnel were recognized.

2015 Fire Company of the Year:
Engine 1, B-shift – Captain James Luther, Driver/Operator Thomas Winkler and Firefighter Ed-ward Maria were recognized for performance at an incident involving a cardiac arrest and motor vehicle accident. The patient was initially found not breathing and did not have a pulse. Their quick actions utilizing CPR and an automatic defibrillator resulted in reviving the individual. Approximately two months later, he returned to the fire station to thank the personnel who saved his life.

2015 Firefighter of the Year:
Firefighter Kyle Martin was recognized for his extensive work with the Hero Half Marathon that resulted in significant donations to numerous non-profit organizations including the Cow Paddy Foundation and scholarships for children of Fayetteville Firefighters.

2015 Fire Warrior of the Year:
Driver/Operator Andrew Horton was recognized for the extra work and responsibility he has assumed in maintaining Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus for the department. He is also an instrumental member of the Truck Committee in helping to design apparatus for future acquisitions.

15 Years – Randall Coker, Brad Hardin, James Luther, David Welch
