Fayetteville Launches New Five Year Economic Development Strategic Plan, Fayetteville First

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. —The City of Fayetteville has launched the development of a five year Economic Development Strategic Plan, Fayetteville First. Boyette Strategic Advisors (BSA) has been engaged to develop Fayetteville First, which will include identification of targeted business sectors/opportunities and strategic recommendations designed to position Fayetteville for continued economic development success.

The strategic planning process will collect data from several sources, including various stakeholder groups that represent businesses, developers, and sectors of our community. A project website, Fayetteville First, will provide material about the plan, an economic development survey, and information on how residents can provide input. It is very important to have participation from a diverse resident sample, as well as the business community.

BSA would also like to gain an understanding of the desires, needs, and perceptions directly from Fayetteville residents. To achieve that participation in the process, there are two methods for resident input. First, a link to an online resident survey can be accessed at www.fayettevillefirst-ar.com. The survey will take no more than ten minutes of your time; residents are encouraged to participate in the survey, and stay informed about the planning process. Additionally, a resident input session will be held on Thursday, Jan. 21 at 5:30 p.m. at the Mockingbird Room of the Town Center, 15 W. Mountain Street, on the square. Free parking is available around the square and in the Town Center parking deck. This discussion will be led and facilitated by BSA, and will give participants an opportunity to share their thoughts and vision for the future of economic development in Fayetteville and obtain their perspectives on a variety of issues impacting the development of this strategy. We hope that you will attend this important session and look forward to seeing you there.
