E. Dickson Street Sidewalk and Storm Drainage Improvements Project Update
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Storm drainage improvements and a new five-foot wide sidewalk are currently under construction on the south side of E. Dickson Street from N. Willow Avenue to Fletcher Avenue. These improvements require the roadway to be closed to thru traffic during construction hours, which are Monday through Friday, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Drivers are encouraged to use E. Lafayette Street as a detour. There will be no construction on Thursday, Dec. 24 or Friday, Dec. 25.
Beginning Monday, Dec. 28, construction will take place from N. Willow Avenue to N. Olive Avenue. The intersection of N. Olive Avenue and E. Dickson Street will be open to all traffic, providing a north/south egress around the project.
The sidewalk and drainage improvements should be complete by the end of January 2016. The Transportation Department will place an asphalt overlay and traffic striping on E. Dickson Street in the spring of 2016.
