Run for the Parks: A Park-to-Park Paved Trail Race in November
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Get out those running shoes and head on out to Fayetteville’s beautiful parks and trails! “Run for the Parks” is the last event of the 2015 inaugural “Fayetteville Race Series”. This paved-trail running event is a great way to show your appreciation for the City of Fayetteville’s parks and trails. “Run for the Parks” will take place on Sunday, November 22 and will feature three race distance options (8.5 miles, 4.5 miles, and 2.5 miles) each beginning in different trailside City park and all finishing at Walker Park.
“Run for the Parks” follows the Clear Creek, Scull Creek, and Frisco Trails that make up the Razorback Greenway. With several distance options and a festive post-race gathering at Walker Park, we hope this race can find the runner and walker hiding in everyone!
Event Details:
All races will finish at Walker Park and participants are encouraged to enjoy post-race activities set up throughout the park. Shuttles will be available before the race to take participants to the park in which their race starts. Starting times and locations are as follows: 8.5 Mile Long Course: starts at Lake Fayetteville (8:00 a.m.)
4.5 Mile Medium Course: starts at Gordon Long Park (8:30 a. m.) 2.5 Mile Short Course: starts at Wilson Park (9:00 a.m.)
Registration fees (before Oct 23):
8.5 mile Distance: $35 4.5 mile Distance: $25
2.5 mile Distance: $25 *Fees increase by $10 after October 23. The registration fee includes race timing, supported course, and a long sleeve t-shirt. Online registration is now open at www.onlinesignup.org/fayetteville.
Prizes and Age Groups:
Prizes will be awarded to the Overall Male and Overall Female finishers of each distance and to the top finishers of each age group (<15, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, >70) for each distance.
