Road Closures and Event Parking Information for Dickson Street Slide

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – W. Dickson Street from St. Charles Avenue to N. West Avenue will be closed from 4:00 a.m. on Sunday, August 30, 2015 through at 2:00 a.m. on Monday, August 31, 2015 for the Dickson Street Slide event. Several additional roads in the Entertainment District will be closed to thru traffic. Signage will be posted and event staff will be staged at all intersections and street closures to divert traffic and inform travelers of alternate routes. Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes and are advised to use caution when traveling in the area during the event. W. Dickson Street sidewalks will remain open to pedestrians and spectators.

> W. Dickson Street, from St. Charles Avenue to N. West Avenue

• CLOSED TO THRU TRAFFIC:
> N. Church Avenue, from W. Dickson Street to W. Spring Street
> N. Locust Avenue, from W. Dickson Street to W. Spring Street
> Shipley Alley, from W. Dickson Street to W. Spring Street
> N. School Avenue, from W. Dickson Street to W. Spring Street
> Rollston Avenue, from W. Dickson Street to W. Watson Street
> Thompson Avenue, from W. Dickson Street to W. Watson Street

On-street parking and municipal parking lots will be free on Sunday. Event parking is NOT allowed on private property, such as the church parking lots and other private business and residential parking lots, nor is it allowed in the Residential Parking Zones displaying parking space numbers between R1 through R299. Additionally, parking in the Fayetteville Public Library Parking Deck will not be allowed due to Roots Festival events at the Library.

Please note: Cars left after 4 a.m. Sunday morning on W. Dickson Street will be relocated to 211 N. Church Street at no charge to the owner. Private parking lots are subject to the fees and conditions posted on the lot’s signage and Nonconsensual Towing Warning Sign.

Dickson Street Slide is being sponsored by Soldier ON Service Dogs, a 501(c)(3) charity based in Fayetteville which provides trained service dogs, at no charge, to local veterans. The event parking map is located on the Soldier ON Service Dogs website here: http://www.soldieronservicedogsinc.org/.
