PUBLIC MEETING ANNOUNCEMENT:
KESSLER MOUNTAIN TRAILS MASTER PLAN

The City of Fayetteville encourages all interested persons or groups to attend a public meeting about developing the Kessler Mountain Trails Master Plan on Monday, August 31, 2015, from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m. in Room 326 of City Hall located at 113 W. Mountain Street. The meeting will begin with a presentation followed by public discussion.

Working with consultants Progressive Trail Design, LLC and Alta Planning + Design, the City is preparing an overall master plan to guide existing trails management and future trail improvements for the 390-acre Kessler Mountain, adjacent to the 230-acre Regional Park in southwest Fayetteville.

The purpose of this meeting is to seek public comment and feedback toward this comprehensive plan that will guide the future of Kessler Mountain’s undeveloped natural areas. The goal of this process is to plan for some level of public use while preserving the natural resource; thereby maintaining our high quality of life as the region continues to grow and prosper. The City is seeking help and guidance from the residents and users of the area in creating and gathering ideas for the master plan.

For those unable to attend this meeting, another public meeting is scheduled for late October and a survey will be posted online. You may contact Fayetteville Parks and Recreation by telephone at 479-444-3471. Written comments may be submitted to Fayetteville Parks and Recreation, 113 W. Mountain Street, Fayetteville, AR 72701 or by emailing parks_and_recreation@fayetteville-ar.gov.
