City of Fayetteville seeks input for Walker Park Master Plan
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The City of Fayetteville invites residents to view and provide feedback for two drafted Walker Park Master Plan concepts during an open-house meeting Tuesday, May 23, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the community park.
The plans were developed with feedback gained in a first round of meetings held earlier this year, including focus groups, a meeting at the park and an online questionnaire that gathered input from 384 participants.
Park planners will be set up at the large pavilion just north of the Walker Park tennis courts, located at 10 W. 15 St.
Two conceptual plans illustrating many of the items prioritized in the first round of meetings will be shown with different development strategies. The City wishes to hear from a diverse group of residents and hopes many people will attend so information provided can help lead to a park that is welcoming and valuable to all.
The new master plan will be used to help guide park improvements scheduled to begin in 2024. These future improvements for the park are partially funded from the Park Improvement Bond approved by Fayetteville residents in 2019.
For those unable to attend the meeting, the plans will be available on Speak Up Fayetteville, the City’s online engagement portal, for feedback. A questionnaire will be available May 23 - June 11 and can be accessed at: https://speakup.fayetteville-ar.gov.
