Expanded assistance program, information session for Fayetteville nonprofits
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The City of Fayetteville has expanded its assistance for nonprofit organizations that were negatively affected because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Assistance of up to $100,000 is available for qualifying nonprofit organizations that served Fayetteville residents between March 3, 2020, and March 2, 2021.
On Tuesday, Feb. 21, City Council voted unanimously to approve the expanded assistance and appropriate $1,000,000 in funding from the City’s American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds.
Nonprofits eligible for assistance through this program are those that experienced negative economic impacts or disproportionate impacts of the pandemic and meet the definition of “nonprofit” — specifically, those that are 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(19) tax-exempt organizations.
Applications are available on the City’s website at https://www.fayetteville-ar.gov/4110/ARPA-Nonprofit-Assistance-Programs. Applications will be accepted beginning Monday, Feb. 27, with a submission deadline of March 10 at 5 p.m.
To help applicants understand eligibility requirements and prepare for the application process, the City will hold an information session on Friday, Feb. 24, from 2 to 3 p.m. in room 326 of City Hall at 113 W. Mountain St. Attendees may also register to attend virtually by going to the public meetings calendar at https://www.fayetteville-ar.gov/Calendar.aspx.
Additional information about ARPA nonprofit assistance and examples of qualifying costs that are eligible for reimbursement can be found online at https://www.fayetteville-ar.gov/4110/ARPA-Nonprofit-Assistance-Programs.
