Trash, recycling collection suspended for Thursday, Feb. 2
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The City of Fayetteville’s Recycling and Trash Collection services are suspended for Thursday, Feb. 2, because of road conditions caused by inclement weather. Many area roads are slick, creating safety and access concerns for heavy trucks getting into tight spaces and traversing hills.
Residential service:
All Thursday residential recycling, trash and yard waste collection routes are being suspended. Monday, Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday residential routes will be collected next week. No extra bag charges will be assessed to residential customers during their next collection day. Customers who have already placed bins and carts on the curb can leave them there until conditions allow for safe retrieval.
Residents who do not wish to wait for recycling services to resume can have access to two recycling drop-off facilities that are open 24 hours per day, seven days a week. For information on locations and what is accepted, go to: https://www.fayetteville-ar.gov/3043/Facilities. (Please note that the City’s Transfer Station on S. Happy Hollow Rd. is temporarily closed for repairs.)
Multi-Family and Commercial Service:
Multi-Family and commercial routes are being limited to critical facilities and will resume normal operations when roads conditions allow for safe collections.
Other services:
The Recycling and Trash Collections offices and compost and mulch facility will be open to the public on Thursday. The Household Hazardous Waste Facility will be closed on Thursday. The Transfer Station remains closed for ongoing construction repairs.
