Stretch of Razorback Greenway temporarily detoured for construction
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Beginning Monday, Dec. 12, the section of the Razorback Regional Greenway between W. Center and W. Meadow streets will be detoured to allow for the replacement of aging asphalt with concrete, as part of the continuation of construction to develop The Ramble.
This detour is anticipated to last until Feb. 1, 2023. Trail users will be directed onto the adjacent driveway running along the Trailside businesses.
Greenway traffic should be cautious of the changing surface conditions. Signs will be installed to direct trail traffic and provide warning of adjacent work areas. Walkers, runners and cyclists are asked to observe detour and other signs on trails and provide adequate distance between themselves and construction work.
Phase 1 of The Ramble opened Sep. 8 and features the reconstructed section of the Greenway from Prairie Street to Center Street. When complete, The Ramble will be a dynamic 50-acre outdoor public space that will help to revitalize Fayetteville’s downtown area and create a destination for residents and visitors. It will showcase and celebrate local arts culture and help link together several key cultural institutions in the area. The project is funded by the 2019 Cultural Arts Corridor bond, one of nine bonds approved by Fayetteville residents.
