Frisco Ave. to close Aug. 15-26 for crosswalk installation

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Beginning Monday, Aug. 15, N. Frisco Ave. will be closed to through-traffic so crews can install a crosswalk at Frisco Ave. and W. Prospect St., as part of work to create the Mission-Razorback Connector Bikeway.

Detour signs will direct traffic around the construction zone until work is completed, which is anticipated to be Friday, Aug. 26, to allow for excavation, forming, pouring and curing the concrete crosswalk.

The Mission-Razorback Connector Bikeway is a 1.1-mile route that includes on-street improvements to Prospect St., Park Ave., Trenton Blvd. and Rebecca St. for pedestrians and bikes. Work is being completed in sections to minimize transportation disruptions. Construction along Trenton Blvd. is complete, and work continues along Prospect St. from Wilson Ave. to the Razorback Regional Greenway.

This summer, City crews have completed a crosswalk at Park Ave. and Trenton Blvd. and a crosswalk at Prospect St. and N. Wilson Ave. as part of this project. As a final step in the project, the remaining portions of the route will include the installation of shared bike lane markings and improved wayfinding signage.
