Public meeting on Highway 71B Corridor improvements
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The City of Fayetteville invites members of the public to learn about proposed plans for improving a half-mile stretch of College Ave. between North and Sycamore streets.
The meeting will be held Monday, Aug. 15, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Walker Community Room at the Fayetteville Public Library, 401 W. Mountain St.
The meeting will have an open forum format where residents will be able to view displays, ask questions and offer comments on the proposed project. City staff and representatives from Garver, the City’s contractor on this project, will be in attendance to discuss the improvements being proposed for this project, which include signalization, pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure improvements, safer roadway crossings, drainage improvements and more.
Through Tuesday, Aug. 23, information on the proposed project and meeting materials are available on the City’s project webpage: https://www.fayetteville-ar.gov/3588/Highway-71B-Corridor.
An online survey is available through Aug. 23 for residents who would like to provide comment but are unable to attend the meeting: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/College_Ave_Aug2022. Those attending the meeting in person will have the opportunity to complete a comment form and either submit it to project staff or send it by mail or email to Garver staff.
Highway 71B Corridor improvements are part of a Street Improvements Projects bond approved by Fayetteville voters in April 2019. For more information about this project, please go to https://www.fayetteville-ar.gov/3588/Highway-71B-Corridor.
