City Offers Tours of Cultural Arts Corridor Construction Progress

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The City of Fayetteville will host two tours of the Fay Jones Woods construction site for residents interested in learning more about the Cultural Arts Corridor bond project and seeing firsthand the progress made. Tours will be held Monday, Nov. 22, and Thursday, Dec. 2. Both will last from 2 to 4 p.m. and are open to 20 people on a first come, first served basis.

Funded by the Cultural Arts Corridor Bond approved by residents in 2019, the work to improve the Fay Jones Woods includes restoration of Tanglewood Branch Creek, removal of invasive species, a canopy walk, overlook and improved access to the Razorback Regional Greenway from the Fayetteville Public Library via accessible trails.

Tours will be given by Peter Nierengarten, environmental director for the City of Fayetteville. Attendees will meet in the south library parking lot, where hard hats and safety vests will be distributed. Those taking the tour are asked to wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes.
