Zion Road Closure to be Extended through September 17

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark—The closure of a section of Zion Road, from Vantage Drive to Old Missouri Road, has now been extended through September 17 2021 for water main and storm drain installation, and to do the undercut for the new roadway alignment. The road will be closed 24 hours a day during this extended period. Traffic will continue to be detoured around the construction area.

The Zion Road improvements project is part of a 2019 transportation bond program designed to create an improved east-west connection between Highway 265 and College Avenue. The project includes roadway improvements, bicycle accommodations and sidewalks. Improvements to this corridor will offer a safer connection for all users as well as additional opportunities for residential and commercial development.

Please use extreme caution when traveling in the work area. Allow yourself extra travel time or consider an alternate route.
