Square to Square Bicycle Ride:
A Collaborative Event Between the Parks and Recreation Departments of Fayetteville and Bentonville
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Fayetteville Parks and Recreation’s inaugural “Fayetteville Race Series” will offer a new event this fall, the “Square to Square Bicycle Ride” on Saturday, September 12, 2015. This event is being organized in collaboration with Bentonville Parks and Recreation. Participants will start the ride at the Bentonville Square between 9:00-10:30 a.m. The 30-mile fun ride will travel south along the newly completed Razorback Regional Greenway, ending on the Fayetteville Square. Post-ride activities – live music, kid’s activity corner, beer garden, and bike valet – can be enjoyed on the Fayetteville Town Center Plaza until 3:00 p.m.
Bike valet service will be offered at the event, allowing participants to enjoy the post-ride activities and visit Fayetteville businesses without the worry of locking up precious wheels. Several shops and restaurants in the vicinity of the Downtown Square and Dickson Street will be offering discounts to ride participants. Limited shuttle service (courtesy of Ozark Regional Transit) to the Bentonville Square will be available for registered participants before and after the ride.
Riders must register in advance and will receive a cyclist-friendly gift for participating. Youth (ages 9-13) can register for $10 (increases after August 3) and adults (ages 14+) can register for $20 (increases after August 3). Children under 8 do not need to register. Event t-shirts can be purchased with registration for an additional $12 each.
Registration is now available online at http://www.onlinesignup.org/fayetteville. There is no additional fee to sign up online for this event. Registration can also be paid at the Fayetteville Parks and Recreation office during normal business hours.
Numerous volunteer opportunities are available. Do you have a creative idea for getting your business or organization involved along the trail during the ride? Contact us!
