Public Invited to Provide Input on Fayetteville’s Economic Vitality and Recovery Plan
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The City of Fayetteville invites the public to participate in a new questionnaire regarding the City’s next Economic Vitality and Recovery Plan. Beyond the four strategic focus areas listed below, the questionnaire also gives residents an opportunity to make suggestions for how the City should utilize a portion of the funding received from the American Rescue Plan for economic recovery. The questionnaire is available on Speak Up Fayetteville, the City’s online public engagement portal: www.fayetteville-ar.gov/speakup.
The Economic Recovery and Vitality Plan will focus on four strategic focus areas – economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, workforce development, small business support and growth, and growth concept oriented economic development (workforce housing and the creation of jobs) – with an attention in each of these areas on equity and inclusion for populations facing barriers to economic mobility and sustainability.
Residents and businesses interested in the project can learn more by visiting the project’s home page at www.fayetteville-ar.gov/economicrecovery. Public input sessions, focus groups and other public engagement opportunities are currently being planned for the future. Residents interested in joining a focus group session can sign up on the project’s home page.
The current project timeline anticipates delivering the final Economic Recovery and Vitality Plan to the Fayetteville City Council for review in early fall, 2021.
