Assistant Fire Chief Promotions at Fayetteville Fire Department
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The Fayetteville Fire Department’s Chief Harley Hunt and Chief Tom Good have both been promoted to the position of Assistant Fire Chief.
Chief Harley Hunt was promoted to Assistant Chief of Safety and Support on July 6, 2015. Chief Hunt began his career with the Fayetteville Fire Department in April of 1998. He promoted up through the ranks and became a Fire Captain in 2005. Hunt became Battalion Chief in November of 2011 and was assigned the position of Fire Marshal. As a Fire Marshal, Chief Hunt is certified in Law Enforcement and Arson Investigation. He works closely with the Fayetteville Police Department Investigations Unit. Until this promotion, Hunt managed the Fire Prevention Bureau overseeing arson investigation, code inspections and enforcement, and public education. This division collaborates with other City of Fayetteville divisions for the purposes of plan review, building permits, special events, and business licenses. Chief Hunt will retain the title of Fire Marshal for the City of Fayetteville.
Chief Good was promoted to Assistant Chief over Field Operations on July 6, 2015. Chief Good began his career with the Fayetteville Fire Department in 1998. He was promoted to Captain in 2004 and served as a Company Officer until achieving the rank of Battalion Chief in 2011. Chief Good served as Shift Commander for B-Shift until his promotion to Assistant Chief of Field Operations. He will manage the Battalion Chief Shift Commanders, the Training Division, and the Department's Hazardous Materials Response Team. Chief Good’s special commendations include a Distinguished Service Award in 2007, Captain of the Fire Company of the Year in 2008 and 2009; he was awarded Firefighter of the Year in 2009.
