Fayetteville Hosts Final Fall Volunteer Cleanup for T-shirts

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Fayetteville’s Parks and Recreation Department, along with the Recycling and Trash Division, are hosting a final fall cleanup for 2020 and invite the public to help collect litter around town.  Individuals and groups of 10 people or less who perform self-guided cleanups across the city, now through December 18, will qualify to receive a cleanup t-shirt while supplies last.

Local streets, streams, trails, parks and lakes have seen more litter this year due to increased outdoor activities. Fayetteville needs help from our residents to make certain litter does not end up in our waterways. The Ozarks’ fall colors, and cooler bug-free weather provide a perfect opportunity to get outside now, while helping to maintain and protect Fayetteville’s natural resources.  We appreciate your help keeping this City beautiful!

Here’s how to participate:

  1. Spend a minimum of 30 minutes picking up litter around Fayetteville and take a picture of your volunteerism.  (Volunteers are asked to be responsible for disposal of waste collected.)
  2. Send the picture and number of people who participated to
    parksvolunteer@fayetteville-ar.gov.
  3. You will be contacted by staff to arrange for t-shirt pickup at the Fayetteville Parks and Recreation Office, 1455 S. Happy Hollow Road.  Please note that t-shirts and size preferences are first come, first served, and available while supplies last.  City of Fayetteville Offices are closed to the public and shirt pick-up will be outdoors and contact free.

For further information about volunteering please contact parksvolunteer@fayetteville-ar.gov.
