City’s Free Mulch Program Ends

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.— Due to an enthusiastic response to the City of Fayetteville’s offer of free mulch during the month of October, mulch supplies at the City’s Compost Facility are now depleted, ending the free-mulch offer.

Seasonal City tree trimming and resident drop-offs of cut trees at the Compost and Mulch facility resulted in a surplus of mulch, leading officials to offer free mulch while supplies lasted.

Mulch and compost are still available for purchase from the City at the Compost Facility (1708 S. Armstrong Ave.). Mulch is $10 per scoop (approximately 2.5 cubic yards, or one pick-up load). Compost is $25 for yard-waste compost and $35 per scoop for food-waste compost.   Winter hours of operation are:

  • Tuesdays and Thursdays 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.
  • 1st Saturday of the month from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.

For more information about ordering mulch or compost, or for arranging for compost delivery, visit www.fayetteville-ar.gov/compost, or call 479-575-8398.
