Help Combat Hunger at Thursday’s Gulley Park Concert
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Help combat hunger in Fayetteville this Thursday, June 25 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Gulley Park Concert Series, featuring The Sisters Sweet. In addition to a lawn chair and a blanket, residents are encouraged to bring food items for donation to Feed Fayetteville. Like all Gulley Park Concerts, this event is free and fun!
Fayetteville Parks and Recreation is excited to partner with Feed Fayetteville, an organization that works to achieve food security in Fayetteville through community agriculture and education.
Initiatives include creating a sustainable food network that advocates for growing fresh produce, learning about balanced nutrition, and diverting food waste. At this concert, residents are encouraged to bring items highly sought by Feed Fayetteville, which include:
• fresh or canned fruits and vegetables,
• oats or oatmeal,
• dried beans,
• whole grain pastas,
• kitchen items such as pots and pans, slow cookers, cooking utensils, and cookbooks.
Upon arrival, concert-goers will be able to easily donate items to Feed Fayetteville staff in the main venue area. Visit http://www.feedfayetteville.org to learn more about Feed Fayetteville.
The concerts are filmed by the City of Fayetteville’s Media Services Division and shown on the Fayetteville Government Channel. The remaining Thursday evening concerts for 2015 are Barrett Baber on July 9, Groovement on July 23, and Fast Times on August 6.
Thanks to all of the bands and fans who help to make the Gulley Park Summer Concert Series what it is – including our sponsors: Arkansas Dentistry and Braces, Hilton Garden Inn, Hog Country Media, Maggie Moo’s Ice Cream, Mellow Mushroom Pizza, Ozark Natural Foods, Qdoba Mexican Grill, The Belford Group, Tooley’s Barbecue, Uptown Eyes, Wells Fargo Advisors, and Magic 107.9 for their assistance with the series. Also, our thanks go to JT Huff Audio for providing great sound and lighting at all of our summer concerts.
