City of Fayetteville Announces New Staff Appointments and Reorganization of its Planning Division
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.—The City of Fayetteville has recently reorganized and divided its Planning Division, creating two new divisions: Development Review and Long-Range Planning/ Special Projects. Senior Planner Jonathan Curth has been promoted to division manager of Development Review, and Mary McGetrick has been hired as manager of the Long-Range Planning/Special Projects Division.
“I couldn’t be more pleased with these two appointments,” said Development Services Director Garner Stoll. “Jonathan brings a wealth of knowledge and experience regarding all aspects of Fayetteville’s development requirements and processes, and Mary brings a unique city planning skillset and experience to engage the public, as well as our elected and appointed officials, to help guide Fayetteville’s long-range planning work program.”
Jonathan Curth joined the Fayetteville Planning Division four years ago from the Kansas City metropolitan area where he worked as a planner after graduating from the University of Kansas. As senior planner for Fayetteville, Jonathan was integral to development review, long-range planning, and management of various projects, including process evaluation and the adoption of City Plan 2040, the City’s comprehensive plan.
Mary McGetrick comes to Fayetteville from Charleston, South Carolina, having most recently worked in private sector real estate development along the Carolina coast. She has an extensive background in municipal planning, federal permitting, urban design, public involvement and complicated real estate entitlement, with a personal love for historic preservation. She is originally from Arkansas and looks forward to being a part of the team focused on the future of Fayetteville.
“Together the two divisions will address two of Mayor Jordan’s critical goals,” said Chief of Staff Susan Norton: “to make the development review processes more efficient and less costly while ensuring the highest quality development, and to work with our citizens to address changes needed to protect and enhance Fayetteville’s enviable economic vitality and quality of life.”
The Development Review and Long-Range Planning/Special Projects divisions are part of the City’s Development Services Department. For information about Development Services in Fayetteville, visit http://www.fayetteville-ar.gov/149/Development-Services.
