Mission Boulevard Sidewalk Construction Completes Connection to Root School

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The City of Fayetteville Transportation Division will begin construction of a new sidewalk along the south side of E. Mission Boulevard (State Highway 45) on Monday, June 22.

A new 12 foot wide sidewalk/trail will be built from E. Viewpoint Drive to Lisa Lane. The developers of Mission Heights are also building a 12 foot wide sidewalk. These projects will complete the sidewalk connection from N. Crossover Road (State Highway 265) to Root School. The installation of storm drain pipe and curbing along the south side of E. Mission Boulevard are included in the project.

The project is estimated to take 12 weeks and the projected completion date is September 11, 2015.

The construction work will occasionally require restricting traffic on E. Mission Boulevard to one lane. Motorists should expect traffic delays and may want to use alternate routes. Flaggers will be in place to direct traffic. Please use extreme caution when in the work area and watch for personnel and equipment.

Typical work hours will be from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday; however, an occasional Saturday or extended weekday hours may be necessary.

On the behalf of the City of Fayetteville, we would like to express our appreciation for your cooperation and understanding as we perform work in this area. For additional information on the project, please contact the City of Fayetteville Transportation Division office at 479-575-8228. Office hours are 7:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
