City of Fayetteville Implements New Online Development, Licensing and Permitting Portal
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The City of Fayetteville is implementing a new web-based system called EnerGov™ to handle applications and payments for Planning, Engineering, Building Safety, Business Licensing, Alcoholic Beverage and HMR/Supplemental Beverage. The upgrade is part of an ongoing City initiative to streamline, simplify and automate these sometimes complex processes in order to facilitate economic growth. The new system is expected to launch on July 13, 2020.
EnerGov™ is an industry-leading software platform designed to automate and connect critical processes, streamline workflow, improve communication and increase productivity from design desk to field operation. It includes a Citizen Self Service portal that will guide users step by step through the application process and remove the need for users to submit documents separately to various City offices. Instead, users will be able to upload all the necessary information and documentation in a single online location, which will then automatically forward the materials to the proper City departments.
The system provides increased transparency for users, who will have the ability to log in to track the process of their application. It is also expected to speed up processing time.
The EnerGov™ upgrade is another step in the City’s initiative to move to integrated, secure, user-friendly digital platforms for its licensing, permitting and payment processes. Last year the City’s Utilities department implemented E-Utility, a one-stop online portal that allows residents to pay their bill, review water usage and set up automated payments. Earlier this year, the City’s Purchasing department introduced a new online bidding system for City of Fayetteville RFPs and RFQs.
Moving to an all-online system also has the added benefit, during this time of global pandemic, of eliminating the need for users to come in-person to City offices for face-to-face delivery of application materials and payments.
When EnerGov™ launches on July 13, Development Services and Accounting customers will be invited to create a login profile and register for the new system. Online video tutorials will be available to help users learn how to upload their materials and navigate the system.
In preparation for the launch of EnerGov™, the existing system for permit, planning and license applications will close down on July 8, allowing City staff time to move applications in process to the new system and test it before it becomes available for public use on July 13, 2020.
