City Parking Regulations Remain in Effect, with special rates for Downtown and Entertainment District workers

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.—As businesses begin to resume in-person operations, the City of Fayetteville reminds visitors to the Downtown Square and Dickson Street areas that parking regulations remain in effect. Parking Ambassadors will continue their scaled-back approach to enforcement to ensure adequate parking spaces are available for patrons of these areas’ businesses.

Currently, the City is issuing warnings for unpaid or expired time as a method to encourage turnover and inform parkers that parking regulations are still in effect. However, multiple warnings for frequent violators could result in a citation.

To support our businesses throughout the Downtown Square and Dickson Street areas, the City has also created sandwich board signs to indicate temporary free on-street parking for curbside pickup. To request a “curbside pickup” designation for your business, please contact the Parking office at 479-575-8280.

Parking solutions for Entertainment District and Downtown Business District employees

Reduced parking rates are available for those who work in the Entertainment District. Upon submitting the required employment information, an employee parking discount code can be obtained through the Parking Management Office. This code reduces the parking rate for the employee by 90% in designated areas.

Hang tag permits allow patrons to park at any long-term (red-top) meter in the Downtown Business District at a cost of $30 per month. Information about both of these permits can be found at www.fayetteville-ar.gov/3754/Parking-Permits-and-Coupons, or by calling the Parking Management Office: 479-575-8280.

Revenue generated from parking fees and fines is dedicated to pay back the bond that was issued to construct the Spring Street Parking Deck, which opened in 2015 to meet growing demand in the Dickson Street Entertainment District.

Please visit www.fayetteville-ar.gov/Parking for more information on the City’s parking programs. For information about the schedule for reopening of different types of businesses, visit www.fayetteville-ar.gov/covid19.
