Center Street to be Closed for Sidewalk Construction

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The city of Fayetteville Transportation Division will begin construction of a new 6-foot-wide sidewalk along the south side of Center Street between Hartman Avenue and Graham Avenue Monday, October 21.

The project will include storm drainage pipe with inlet boxes, new curb and gutter, and sidewalk along the south side of Center Street.

Typical work hours will be from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.  However, an occasional Saturday or extended hours during the week may be necessary. The project is estimated to take 8 weeks to complete.

The construction work will require closing Center Street (between Hartman Ave. and Graham Ave.) to through traffic during work hours of 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. weekdays.  (Residents will be allowed access during work hours.)  Please use extreme caution when in the work area and watch for personnel and equipment.  The street will be reopened to full traffic nights and weekends.

On behalf of the City of Fayetteville, we would like to express our appreciation for your cooperation and understanding as we perform our work in this area.  For additional information on the project, please contact the City of Fayetteville Transportation Division office at 575-8228.  Office hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
