Improvements Continue on Thomas Avenue
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The City of Fayetteville Transportation Division, in conjunction with the University of Arkansas, is continuing improvements on Thomas Avenue. The construction work requires closing Thomas Avenue (between Markham Road and Hotz Drive) to thru traffic 24 hours a day, seven days a week beginning Monday, July 22. Construction is estimated to take four weeks to complete.
The project includes storm drainage improvements, new curb and gutter, new sidewalk on the east side, street sub-base reconstruction, and new asphalt driving surface.
Water line and utility improvements have previously been installed and contractors working for the University of Arkansas have been working on the east side of Thomas Avenue for the last few weeks. To learn about other street and sidewalk improvements, please visit this area of the website.
Please use extreme caution when in the work area and watch for personnel and equipment.
On behalf of the City of Fayetteville, we would like to express our appreciation for your cooperation and understanding as we perform our work in this area. If you have questions or comments on the project, please contact the Transportation Division at 479-575-8228. Office hours are 7:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
