City Announces Summer’s Slow Roll Bike Ride Events
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.— The City of Fayetteville’s Slow Roll bike ride program continues to offer community-oriented bike events for riders of all ages and abilities. These rides last approximately one hour and are slow-paced (averaging about 6 miles per hour) on flat routes through neigborhoods and on paved trails. These rides are casual and fun for families with children as well as seasoned cyclists.
Don’t have a bike? Don’t worry! VeoRide bike share bikes will be available for anyone with an account. Helmets are available for free but are not required to ride.
June Slow Roll
When: Saturday, June 29 – event starts at 11 a.m. and ride starts at noon
Where: Fiesta Square (3600 N College Ave). Explore Rolling Hills Drive and Appleby Road neighborhoods
Info: Free food samplings from Whole Hog Café after the ride. Free e-bike demo provided by Bike NWA with reservations available online
July Slow Roll
When: Saturday, July 13 – event starts at 10 a.m. and ride starts at 11 a.m.
Where: TriCycle Farms (1705 N Garland Ave). Explore neighborhoods south of UA Agri Farms
Info: Relaxed family-friendly event on the TriCycle Farms with free snacks and fun for kids of all ages.
August Slow Roll
When: Thursday, August 1 – event starts at 5 p.m. and ride starts at 6 p.m.
Where: Fayetteville’s Downtown Square during First Thursday. Explore Wilson Park and Washington-Willow neighborhoods
Info: First Thursday on the Square, produced by Experience Fayetteville, is a community centered event that features a combination of music, food, art, and fun. The theme for August is tailgating.
