Sidewalk Improvements at Intersection of Gregg Avenue and Township Street

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.— The City of Fayetteville Transportation Division will begin construction of sidewalk improvements at the intersection of N. Gregg Avenue and E. Township Street on Monday, June 24. Work will take place on weekdays from 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; however, an occasional Saturday or extended hours during the week may be necessary. The project is estimated to take four weeks to complete. Please note, extended periods of rain will extend estimated construction time.

The construction work will require closing the outer northbound lane of Gregg Avenue (south of the Township Street intersection). Traffic lanes on Township Street will be narrowed. Flaggers will be in place to direct traffic. The street will be reopened to thru traffic at nights and weekends.

The improvement project includes building new sections of sidewalk to connect with existing ones. New access ramps will be installed at the intersection’s northeast and southeast corners. Existing curb radii will be modified to improve pedestrian safety. New curb and gutter on Township Street will be installed as part of this project to improve stormwater drainage.

Motorist should expect delays and if possible, select a different route to travel. Please use extreme caution when traveling in the work area and watch for personnel and equipment.
