Greedy Goats Return to Wilson Park

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Fayetteville’s most famous four-legged volunteers will be clearing invasive plant species at Wilson Park from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, Tuesday, April 23 through Saturday, April 27, barring rain. Greedy Goats of Northwest Arkansas have been educating and entertaining park-goers while clearing invasive honeysuckle, privet, and other aggressive plants since they adopted Wilson Park in 2015.

The community is invited to come watch the hooved volunteers as they munch invasive plants on the south side of the park, near Louise Avenue. Those who miss them on this visit will have another opportunity in July and October.

To find out more about how you can volunteer in City parks and trails and help in the City’s efforts to combat invasive plant species, please contact Kristina Jones, parksvolunteer@fayetteville-ar.gov. You learn about common invasive species and suggested native alternatives in an educational packet written by City staff and community stakeholders.
