U.S. News and World Report’s Best Places to Live Lists Fayetteville for Fourth Consecutive Year

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — U.S. News & World Report recently revealed its 2019 Best Places to Live, ranking the Fayetteville, Arkansas Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) as number four on the list, and making 2019 the fourth consecutive year Fayetteville has been ranked in the publication’s top five.  Other cities in the top five include Austin, Texas at No. 1; Denver, Colorado at No. 2; Colorado Springs, Colorado at No. 3; and Des Moines, Iowa at No. 5.

US News analyzed the 125 most populous metro areas to find the best places to live based on quality of life, the job market, the value of living in each metro area, and people's desire to live there. Fayetteville was cited as “a center of higher education, culture, commerce and entrepreneurialism.” Information and statistics gathered by US News and World Report about the Fayetteville MSA (Metropolitan Statistical Area) can be found here: http://realestate.usnews.com/places/arkansas/fayetteville.

“I couldn’t be happier that Fayetteville has once again been ranked in the top five Best Places to Live,” said Mayor Lioneld Jordan. “We’re continually working with partners to make Fayetteville a desirable place for people to live, work, learn, visit and play. This recognition underscores the good work our city is doing for all of our residents, and the quality of life we can create when we work together.”

The 2019 Best Places to Live were determined in part by a public survey of thousands of individuals across the US to find out what qualities they consider important in a hometown. The methodology also factors in data from the United States Census Bureau, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Bureau of Labor Statistics, as well as US News rankings of the Best High Schools and Best Hospitals.

In her description of Fayetteville for the Best Places feature, local expert Rachel Gerner wrote, “People from all over the world call Fayetteville home. Newcomers often comment on the friendliness of Fayetteville residents. People wave and smile at each other in the street, and community events are well-attended. With dozens of volunteer organizations and nonprofits, there's an abundance of ways to get involved in the community.”
