Municipal Parking Lot Off West Avenue Closed for Milling and Asphalt Overlay
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.— The City of Fayetteville Parking Management Division will be overseeing the milling and placement of an asphalt overlay in Parking Lot 55, located at 316 N. West Ave., just north of Dickson Street (near Hammontree’s and the Legacy Building). Parking Lot 55 will be closed from Monday, January 7 through Friday, January 11. Additional parking will remain available at other City-managed lots, including the West Avenue Parking Lot (southwest corner of West Avenue and Dickson Street), the Spring Street Parking Deck, and the West Avenue Annex Parking Lot (north of Watson Street, for UA use during day, but open to the public on nights and weekends). Additional maps and information on available parking can be found on the City’s website.
The City currently manages 11 public parking lots located in the Downtown Square and Dickson Street Districts. The surface lots are asphalt that periodically require general maintenance such as crack seal, seal coat, restriping, patching, and bumper block replacements. These lots also require a complete asphalt overlay on a less frequent basis.
Parking Lot 55 is the most heavily used City lot in the Dickson Street District and has undergone several crack seal and patching repairs over the years, but is now in need of a full asphalt overlay to prevent further deterioration of the lot. Additional recent improvements on this lot include LED light installations and a low-impact development (LID) permeable paver installation.
This project has been scheduled to create as minimal impact as possible on users and the Parking Management Division appreciates your patience. Please note that inclement weather could delay or extend the estimated work time.
