FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — “On New Year’s Day, the City will not charge for parking in Fayetteville’s two parking districts,” said Mayor Lioneld Jordan. “City staff and I wish everyone a safe and happy holiday!”
There will be no charge for parking on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 in City parking lots or in on-street parking spaces within the Dickson Street District and the Downtown Square District. The annual New Year’s Eve festival on the Square, Last Night Fayetteville, is not being held this year; however, Lights of the Ozarks will continue New Year’s Eve and for an additional evening on Tuesday, January 1. The lights will turn off at 1 a.m. on January 2. City officials ask drivers to be mindful of spaces reserved for Lights of the Ozarks vendors on the Square and marked residential parking spaces throughout the districts.
Paid parking will be reinstated at 8 a.m. in the Square district and at 2 p.m. in the Dickson Street district on Wednesday, January 2.
