“Best Bark in the Park” Photography Contest Winners Announced
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.— The City of Fayetteville Parks and Recreation Department asked people and pups to celebrate the change of seasons with its inaugural “Best Bark in the Park” photography contest. More than 30 submissions were received. Entries were judged by members of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board who scored on appearance, charisma, expression, creative use of the park setting, and that “special something.”
The competition was fierce with too much adorableness, but the judges were finally able to quit cooing and choose their top three favorites. The winners are (thunder of paws please) …
First Place: Winnie at Gulley Park: Winnie is a three-year-old mixed breed who loves exploring Fayetteville’s parks! At home, she naps to pass the time. Winnie wins a free examination and grooming from Animal Medical Clinic.
Second Place: Penny at Wilson Park: Penny is a one-year-old Pembroke Welsh Corgi. She’s just a puppy who loves to play in the creek! Penny’s prize is an Eno collar and safety lite from Pack Rat Outdoor Center.
Third Place: Cooper at Gulley Park: Cooper is a two-year-old Golden Retriever who goes to Gulley Park with his humans to have is best day ever (again and again)! Cooper cops canine cupcakes and some for his humans from Bliss Cupcakes.
Fayetteville Parks and Recreation thanks the judges, contestants, and their canines for their participation. Please continue to protect our groundwater and prevent disease by picking up after your dog(s). Always feel free to contact the Parks and Recreation office at 479-444-3471 or visit www.fayetteville-ar.gov/parks. Enjoy our City’s parks, lakes, and trails in all seasons!
